We are moving to Denver in three days. I am happy and sad all at the same time. I will miss London very much - the parks, the diversity, the cheese shops, the being able to jump on a Euro Star and be in Paris in less than three hours, the fun restaurants, the abundance of beer, the mcvities biscuits....and the list goes on. But moving to Denver will be fun. We will be close to family and have what feels like a lot more money (London is annoyingly expensive). Plus, it's where we are from...and who doesn't love their home state? *sigh* it is just a happy/sad time.
p.s. our very student residence-ish apartment(pic above) became so comforting to us and a very nice first home. I miss it already.
I understand those feelings...moving is such a bittersweet experience. But you will find great things in Colorado and return home to many of the things that you already love and cherish.
